Manufacturing Filament Wound Pipe
Custom interior liners, extra wall thickness, special flanges, and many new
plastic resins to choose from are all reasons that make filament wound pipe
practical and economical.
Fitting Joining Methods
There are three pipe joining methods for Dura-Wound Pipe systems:
 | Butt Wrap Joint - This is the most common and economical method to
use and provides a stronger joint than the pipe itself. For long runs of
buried high pressure systems, it is the most dependable of all joint
methods. |
 | Bell And Spigot Joint - This joint system is fast and dependable.
On large pipe systems where high pressure is involved, the bell spigot can
be used for alignment with an over wrap to insure a leak proof joint. |
 | Flanged Joint - Flanged joints are recommended where the pipe
system is to be connected to pumps, valves, etc. or when the pipe system is
to be disconnected often. Dura-Wound Flanges are of two types - Vanstone
type and full face fiberglass. Both types can be butt wrapped or bell and
spigot joined to pipe ends. |
